Towards integrating a realistic geometry of parts
Team Leader: F. THIEBAUT, Associate Professor
The main scientific objective assigned the Géo3D team is to
effectively incorporate a realistic and consistent part geometry into
the activities of design, manufacturing and inspection. The team's
research activities are thus positioned within a general framework
that extends from the expression of mechanism's functional
requirements to the verification of component part geometry.
These activities, very closely linked to the design, manufacturing
and control steps, consist of: specifying the part geometry
under given constraints; controlling the geometrical variations
and the quality of the parts; and measuring the geometry of
real shapes.
