* At the very core of technological research

Strongly tied to a technological research orientation, our work tends to be conducted in close partnership with industry throughout a number of sectors, including: transportation (automobile, rail, aeronautics), energy production, and mechatronics or on-board systems. Income generated from research contracts (amounting to a before-tax yearly average of €180,000 for both public- and private-sector missions) accounts for roughly 70% of the laboratory's unconsolidated budget (excluding salaries and capital investment).

From a general perspective, our research is aimed at providing comprehensive responses to the technological challenges facing both industry and modern society. Our efforts give rise, in varying degrees, to fundamental research work, computer simulation and experimental studies; in some instances, on-site assistance with implementation is provided as an additional service.

This scope of activity has been structured around the scientific contributions of two in-house research teams and short-term project assignments, most often pluridisciplinary in nature, undertaken in conjunction with other national or international laboratories.
